The bulb and clove amounts are ESTIMATES to help you determine how much garlic there is by weight for help with planting and spacing.

Approx. 6-8 bulbs per pound and 30-40 cloves per lb. plants 15-20 linear feet at 6” spacing.

We check each bulb before shipping them to you, so if there are any quality issues, we may need to substitute. We rarely need to do this, but it does happen. If it is necessary, we will substitute with a similar garlic, but if you have any comments on this please fill out the comment section like a back up garlic or no substitutions. We still want to get you some great garlic, so please choose how you would like us to proceed with your order if the item you ordered is not available. We do set aside some great garlic in case we do have to substitute garlic!

    Love the German extra hearty garlic cloves. They hit the ground running and with proper fertilization grew into wonderful, healthy plants. The extreme heat locally made it a little hard to estimate the best time to harvest and I think I waited a touch too long ….. not the fault of the garlic 🙂 wonderful to eat and cook with. I will probably save the biggest bulbs for planting this fall but learned my lesson. I can’t save clothes from year to year to plant…. They lose some of their oomph:). . Thank you to Keene garlic for great seed, and great guidance!

    72 bulbs were planted in October, Zone 7, Harvested late June. I made air fryer roasted garlic spread, wrapped each bulb in parchment paper and foil. 400 for 30 min. Blended the mashed garlic with nutritional yeast and sea salt. Yum.

    I was totally satisfied when I planted them in September. 2025. They grew up to about 10 in. They were well mulched in and I added more in October. My plants were about 3 ft tall and produce some of the best garlic I’ve ever grown.
