Description
Georgian Crystal Garlic Bulbs for Spring Planting
Georgian Crystal Garlic Bulbs are available this spring for planting and have been kept in cold storage (cold stratified) to mimic winter to provide the best spring planting garlic for your success. In the spring, the bottom of the cloves are starting to root and sprouts are ready to take off and grow!
Fall planting is preferred for best results, but garlic can still be planted in the spring. As early in spring as possible, plant cold-stratified garlic cloves into nutrient-rich soil. The best results for full bulbing occur if Mother Nature provides a short, cool spring, then a warm early summer, with hot temperatures a few weeks before harvest. If you find Mother Nature is not cooperating, the bulbs may be smaller than anticipated. Even if they are small, they have excellent flavor and store longer than fall-planted garlic. Another option is to harvest them early as green garlic.
Georgian Crystal Garlic Bulbs have 4-6 huge cloves per bulb and are a dream to use in the kitchen to provide large amounts of garlic with little peeling. It is also known as the best-tasting porcelain garlic variety with a strong garlic flavor that is not as overpowering as other garlic varieties in the same family. All of our garlic is grown organically and is non-GMO and non-treated.

Basic Spring Garlic Growing Information
Planting Time: Plant early spring to harvest that summer, or plant as green garlic to harvest in spring!
Sun Requirement: Garlic requires full sun – the more the better!
Soil Fertility: Adding compost or a balanced organic fertilizer is essential for growing healthy garlic, especially if your soil fertility is low. For the best growth and yield, garlic needs fertilizer at planting time and additional side dressing throughout the growing season. Our Keene Garlic Fertilizer is specially formulated for garlic!
Planting: Plant garlic as soon as you can work the soil in the spring. Separate cloves and plant each clove 4-6 inches apart with pointy side up and root side down into fertilized soil. Apply mulch and then water.
