Magic Molly Fingerling Seed Potatoes

Organic Magic Molly Fingerling Seed Potatoes – Deep Purple Beauty, Gourmet Flavor & Nutrient-Dense

Magic Molly is a striking fingerling potato with deep purple skin and vibrant violet flesh that stays bold even after cooking. Its earthy, slightly sweet flavor and firm texture make it perfect for roasting, steaming, or creating stunning purple mashed potatoes and salads.

Beyond its beauty, Magic Molly is packed with nutrition. The rich purple color comes from anthocyanins—powerful antioxidants that help protect cells and support heart health. These tubers also deliver vitamin C for immunity, potassium for healthy blood pressure, and essential minerals like iron and magnesium for energy and overall wellness. With lower starch and higher nutrient retention, Magic Molly offers gourmet appeal and superior nourishment.

Each plant produces abundant fingerlings with excellent storage potential and strong disease resistance. Reliable, colorful, and nutrient-rich, Magic Molly is a favorite for home gardeners, chefs, and market growers alike. A most wonderful addition to a tray of roasted beets & carrots, or paired with the Austrian Crescent and French Fingerlings.

🌱 Seed Potato Growing Information – Certified Seed Potatoes

  • Soil: Potatoes thrive in deep, loamy soil that holds moisture yet drains well. They adapt to less than ideal soils but produce best with plenty of organic matter. Create nutrient‑rich soil with our Veggies NKO Organic Fertilizer for healthier plants and higher yields.
  • Planting Time: Plant as soon as the ground can be worked, ideally when soil reaches ~45°F. Timing varies by region.   Potatoes tolerate light frost but may need protection from hard, late frosts. The Farmers Almanac Planting Calendar by zip code is a great resource for planting times.
  • Bed Feet per Pound: 1-lb bag plants approximately 6-8 row feet, depending on the variety. If a seed potato is over 1 inch in diameter, you can cut them into pieces. Leave 1 – 2 eyes per piece. Average is 6-8 pieces/lb., more for Fingerlings. Average planting rate: 10-12″ apart, in rows 30-36″ apart.
  • Water: Consistent watering is key. Provide ~1″ of water per week. Stop watering once plants naturally die back.

📝 Product Details – Magic Molly Organic Seed Potatoes

  • Storage until planting: Remove potatoes from box and bag. If eyes are not yet visible, we recommend placing them in light & warmth, ~60-70F, to awaken them out of dormancy.
  • Natural characteristics: Minor sprouting, shriveling, or blemishes are normal for seed potatoes for planting and do not affect performance. If planting is delayed beyond 2 weeks, keep seed potatoes in a cool, dark place until ready to plant.
  • Variety selection: Choose seed potato varieties suited to your USDA hardiness zone.
  • Shipping & planting: At checkout, select shipping dates that match your regional planting times, and plant once soil is workable, ideally around 45°F.
