Pre-orders open in January
Choose Healthy, High-Yield Onions in Your Garden
Grow a bountiful onion harvest with our certified organic onion plants and non-GMO onion sets. Perfect for home gardeners, these hardy onions thrive in raised beds, containers, or in-ground gardens.
💚 Why Gardeners Love Them
- Delicious flavor: Many varieties to choose from, including mild and sweet to bold and robust.
- Organic Onion & Leek Plants: Live seedlings, hardened off, ready to plant (Shipping begins April 1)
- Non-GMO Onion sets: Small bulbs producing large onion bulbs for a summer harvest (Shipping begins late February)
🌱 Certified Organic Onion & Leek Plants
Our organic onion plants are greenhouse-grown on small family farms in Wisconsin. Arriving in soil-filled containers, these live seedlings are partially hardened off.
✔️ Shipping Notice: Onion & Leek Plants begin shipping April 1.
⚠️ Special Care: These live plants are popular with market gardeners for plentiful harvests, but they are more tender and sensitive than sets. They require gentle handling and extra attention, and it may take a bit longer to plant if reships are needed, so plan accordingly.
🧅 Non-GMO Onion Sets
For an earlier delivery, try our starter onion sets for spring planting. These non-GMO, non-treated, small pearl-sized bulbs are planted whole and grow into large summer onions. Choose from yellow, red, white, or sweet onion sets.
📦 Shipping: Onion sets begin shipping in late February.
❔Onion Plants vs Onion Sets
When deciding between organic onion plants and non-GMO onion sets, it comes down to form, timing, and the level of care you prefer. Our organic onion plants are live seedlings that ship after April 1, producing uniform bulbs ideal for home gardens. While vigorous growers, as seedlings, they are more tender and sensitive, requiring gentle handling and extra attention. Onion sets are small dormant bulbs, available as early as late February, that also produce single bulbs, giving gardeners an earlier start to the season.
🌞 Long-Day & Intermediate-Day Onion Varieties
All our onions are long-day or intermediate-day varieties, ideal for gardeners from Maine to Northern Texas. Not recommended for short-day regions.
